MICHAEL DEWBERRY

Michael H. Dewberry is the founding director and CEO of the Pride Museum of Texas, an institution that preserves and promotes the history, visual culture, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the museum is developing and executing robust programming and pop-up exhibitions as it searches for a permanent home. A classically trained art historian, Michael has over a decade of experience in the art world, spanning museums, galleries, and Sotheby’s. His mission is to curate exhibitions and programming, bridging cultures and creating communities united around inclusivity and action. Before attending graduate school to focus on decorative arts, he studied product design at the Scuola Politecnico di Design in Milan, Italy. Michael earned his master’s in Decorative Arts, Design History, and Material Culture from the Bard Graduate Center in New York City. He holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Art History from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
