Nico Tortorella
Nico Tortorella is an actor, musician, and author. Perhaps best known for Darren Star’s dramedy series YOUNGER, Nico portrayed fan favorite Josh for 7 seasons on the show which was both a rare critics darling and ratings juggernaut. Tortorella also starred in two seasons of AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD: WORLD BEYOND, a continuation of the hugely popular franchise that focused on the first generation of kids to come of age during the zombie apocalypse. Nico will next star in Apple TV’s CITY ON FIRE, adapted from the NYT bestseller by Garth Risk Hallberg. Tortorella will play William, a brilliant but self-destructive artist, in the drama which explores what happens after an NYU student is shot to death in Central Park on July 4, 2003. They do all of their own singing in the show, a first for Nico. They will also appear in the upcoming indie film, THE MATTACHINE FAMILY, opposite Carl Lemons-Hopkins and Emily Hampshire. A longtime lover of theater, Nico made their stage debut in Jordan Jaffe’s play CRUDE which earned strong reviews for their portrayal of Jaime, most notably from The New York Times, and sang and tap-danced opposite their YOUNGER co-star Sutton Foster for four tour dates with The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Tortorella wrote a collection of poetry, all of it is you, and a memoir, Space Between. In 2019, the City of Los Angeles officially dedicated May 31st as Nico Tortorella Day in honor of their advocacy on behalf of the LGBTQIA+ community. Nico is married to longtime partner, Bethany C. Meyers, and they reside on the East Coast with their daughter and two dogs.
