ZACH HERRIN

Professional Stock Car Driver, LGBTQ+ Advocate

Zach Herrin is an American professional stock car driver who currently competes in NASCAR’s ARCA Series. Born in Glendale, California. Zach began racing motorcycles at the age of 5, competing in amateur championships until the age of 16. In 2012, Zach began his professional career in the AMA Pro SuperSport Championship before moving into professional karting. Shortly after, Zach left his professional career behind as the realization that he was gay made him feel as though he did not belong in the world of professional motorsports. A decade later, after coming out to friends and family, he is back in the world of professional racing to make a space for himself and every other LGBTQ+ person that feels as though there is no room for them in the industry.

For the 2023 season opener in Daytona, FL, Zach partnered with Lambda Legal to shine a spotlight on the “Don’t Say Gay” law and other divisive laws springing up around the country that Lambda Legal is dedicated to fighting. Zach’s ultimate goal is to continue to drive the sport of NASCAR forward to a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all marginalized communities.
